What Is Radon?
Radon is a chemical element that is produced as uranium. It naturally decays in soil, rock, water, and building materials. It can’t be seen, tasted, or smelled. It is known to be the second leading cause of lung cancer.
If your home is sealed tight, measurments of radon can be as high as 10 times the normal! This usually happens mostly during winter months. Apart from that, homes with crawl spaces have a greater risk for high levels of radon.
The EPA recommends the installation of a radon mitigation system if the radon level within your home is four (4) pCi/L or higher.
